It may be helpful to assess if your child is ready for Kindergarten further by asking the following questions:
Does your child…
- Share and take turns?
- Retell simple stories?
- Enjoy being with others?
- Tell his or her full name and age?
- Recognize and write his or her name?
- Understand number concepts?
- Identify colors?
- Begin to recognize lowercase letters?
- Relate experiences?
- Sit still for periods of time?
- Draw simple figures?
- Take care of personal property?
- Put away toys?
- Enjoy listening to stories?
- Ask questions to gain information?
- Listen to and follow multi-step directions?
If you answered yes to all or most of these questions, then your child is likely to be ready for our Full-day Kindergarten program. If you’d like to discuss enrolling your child for our Kindergarten program or want to discuss his or her readiness further, please feel free to contact us.
