The GPS teaching methods, based on current brain development research, create excitement and joy in our students. They discover and explore through meaningful, experimental and active learning. The fun continues with annual special events and field trips exclusive to Golden Pond School that create a special community of families. The Parent Group’s mission is to deepen Golden Pond School’s community spirit, support school events and enhance the children’s educational experience including the Thanksgiving Food Drive, Holiday Coat Drive, Holiday Shoppe, social events, Art to Remember, Thanksgiving Pie Sales and the Lemonade Stand.

Available 2, 3 or 5 days a week from 11:30am – 1:20pm. This supplementary program gives children extra time to solidify friendships with in a warm, atmosphere while enjoying lunch and participate in creative art projects, science experiments, and other group activities.

The fun begins with teachers wearing red and white striped hats at car line and then special themed snacks and lots of reading and activities. When children have fun learning – they love to learn!

Adventures include Washington D.C., Rust Nature Sanctuary, Pumpkin Picking Farms, Whole Foods Scavenger Hunt, Sculpture Garden and more!

For children enrolled in our Kindergarten program + children attending K – 3rd grade in the local public schools. Students enjoy the engaging activities and strong friendships!

As part of introducing children to a broader world, Golden Pond offers a fun and educational introduction to Spanish on a daily basis in our Threes, Explorers, Fours, Junior Kindergarten, and Kindergarten classes.

Golden Pond School provides each child with an introduction to music in a developmentally appropriate manner. We correlate our music and movement program with our monthly themes to encourage learning through musical play and song.

The art program at Golden Pond encourages every child to stretch their creativity and imagination and to have fun. Children work with a variety of media and get to experiment with abstract art, self-portraits, painting, and three-dimensional work.

Our hands-on, science-based activities are built upon the theme-related books that our children are enjoying.

Golden Pond School actively supports local charities with the help of our Parent Group. We are leaders in education providing teaching guidance to the Ashburn Library and fellow teachers at VSRA. In addition, Golden Pond School offers free Reading Readiness programs for the community.

Welcome to the Golden Pond Family!

This is our special way of welcoming families who are new to GPS. Friends will experience The Golden Pond Way for the first time through duck themed, hands-on activities like Lucky Duck, Duckpin Bowling, Egg Toss, Chuck-a-Duck and Bean Bag Toss. We will paint murals, decorate cookies, made Duck Feed and Duck Visors plus learn bubble adjectives in Spanish!
